The Holidays

Been so busy with Christmas and post Christmas shopping - gotta take the opportunity for the post xmas sale for next year (yes, it never ends).  So many great finds with great prices not just for home accessories but also clothes and accessories.  Let me part this post with a great find a wool hat from UCB (my daughter loved it that we all had to take a picture) at $9.50 it's a steal.  BTW, the Benetton store is also running a 50% off sale right now at the South Coast Plaza.

My Current Obsession.....

So lately, I've been surfing the net for inspiration for home improvement projects we're planning to do in the near future.  And my latest obsession is LIGHTING, yes lighting.  For me, not only great lighting brightens a room but it also brings in a certain feel of what mood or style you are going for in that particular room.  I found a couple of chandeliers and pendant lighting while we were window shopping at my favorite store- Z Gallerie yesterday.  I am currently looking for a pendant light for our dining room,  a globe pendant similar to this (for our kitchen to hang above the island) that I found on the West Elm website

and an elegant, timeless and modern chandelier for the master bedroom.  This is on my wish list but cost is a little bit steep for me (price is $798)

I know this will be a perfect accent to our bedroom- which for the meantime only has a bed, 2 side tables and a dresser.  I am still deciding between a light blue wall or white or grayish colored wall paper from Graham and Brown.   I finally got my sample wall paper in  the mail a couple of weeks ago.

Besides the Holiday Preparations, this keeps my mind pre occupied lately.  All the design possibilities makes my excitement grow even more.  Can't wait until our bedroom is finally complete and done with.

Busy Bee

Lately my home improvement projects have been set aside to make way for the holidays. From Holiday Shopping to buying a christmas tree (which is laying flat on our living room at this very moment-the husband is still working on putting it up so we can't decorate it yet- which my daughter is looking forward to) to getting LED lights for our backyard and front of the house and planning our annual family christmas party which I am very excited and looking forward to as it is our very first christmas here at home and I want to make sure it is a special one for my kids this year.

So for our Christmas decors, I am thinking of having Aqua (my fave),  red (christmas colors) and white with silver accents and have snowflakes ornaments (which I purchesed a lot of from the dollar tree- for would you believe a dollar each or some of them per set- what a great find!!), snowman images and peppermint/candy cane. I'll post some pictures soon around the household of our decors in progress.

How about you, any special christmas projects at your home?

My baby steps begin..

I have started this blog to look and share my inspirations for my home improvement projects.  There is so much samples, pictures, inspirations boards out there and hard to find that one style and design that suits you, your family and lifestyle.  I have a couple of projects lined up and have alot of ideas but don't know where to start so I thought "baby steps" would fit this design journey into decorating my home.  I am not an interior designer by profession but I am passionate in finding products that suit me and my everyday life and applying these into every room in my house. I will also include posts on clothing and accessories which is another passion of mine and will try my best to share great finds everywhere I go.

So wish me luck and hopefully you  stay aboard and join me on this journey as I finalize my home interior and find the best style out there.  I am excited to begin.
