The Search

is over- in finding our home.  We plan to stay here as long as we can and  plan on retiring in this house since it was a big investment for us, not only financially but took a long time for us to find this home (we waited almost 6 years to find our dream home that is within our budget). We actually bought a home years back and decided it wasn't for us right after escrow closed.  We decided to stay where we are at and looked for houses around our area. We've either almost bought another house, put in an offer but never heard back from the bank as it was a short sale, been to many open houses, home viewing with our realtor but never found the house.   Ultimately, we were looking for a house to raise our kids and have a good school close by.  And when we did found this property, we couldn't believe our luck.  It was the perfect timing when real estate prices plunged due to the economy.  We saw the house being built and couldn't have been more excited and especially that we were expecting our second child on the way at that time.

Once our escrow closed. We got the contractor to start on the bathrooms upstairs and I started painting my kids rooms.  My husband did the flooring downstairs which took him a couple of weeks to complete (from stripping the carpet to installing brand new laminate flooring). He's never done it prior to this but mainly watched it on You Tube and HGTV.  A lot of work and money has been put into this home. We wouldn't have the heart to sell or move out if this home.  Until now, there's still a lot to do (home improvement projects, side and front yards still missing) but all in all we're happy and feel blessed to be where we are at right now.
